Just before 1:00 a.m., Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) arrived at a house in the 6500 block of Blue Jay Road that's front entrance was on fire and spreading to the attic and roof.
Deputy Fire Chief Alan Hofsink, " There was extensive damage to the entire structure due to the roof collapsing and fire operations,”
An investigation into the cause began this morning.
According to a media release from the City of Vernon, two occupants and a pet dog escaped the fire with no injuries.
