COLDSTREAM, B.C. – A stretch of Highway 6 that has seen more than its share of incidents saw two separate crashes, only minutes apart Sunday night. Icy conditions made driving especially hazardous.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Coldstream and Lavington fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle that had left the road and ended up in an orchard. While en route, crews came across another, unrelated crash less than a kilometer away from the first.
Both vehicles appeared to have fallen victim to the icy Highway 6 roadway between Aberdeen and Kalamalka roads.
Emergency responders, including BC Ambulance and RCMP, worked to assist those involved, and traffic was affected for less than an hour.

There is no official word on injuries or whether other factors contributed to the crashes.
