Black Smoke Seen Over East Vernon

A column of thick black smoke prompted multiple calls to 911 dispatchers Saturday

morning. Both BX Swan Lake Fire and Vernon Fire Rescue responded. Once the fire was located in the 900 block of Mountview Road, Vernon, it was determined to be a permitted slash burn.
