Body of Missing Kayaker located
The body of Eli Buraca was located in deep water at the north end of Kalamalka Lake in Coldstream and has been recovered by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team on August 16, 2023.
RCMP said a determined group of volunteers were extremely important in locating the body of Eli Buraca. The Kayaker was reported missing late July 24th, 2023 after he was caught in a storm on Kalamalka Lake.
The 26-year-old's body was discovered in deep water at the north end of Kalamalka Lake in Coldstream and has been recovered by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team on August 16, 2023.
Many people helped search for Eli Buraca. Involved in the search were the Buracas family, Vernon Search and Rescue, RCMP, the Rolston family who traveled from the US to the Okanagan with their hi-tech sonar search boat, plus private citizens.
