Travellers wishing to use the Needles Cable Ferry or Columbia Ferry to cross the Arrow Lakes should be advised of upcoming service disruptions due to scheduled maintenance. Please review the details below to plan your travel accordingly.
Needles Cable Ferry
Scheduled Maintenance: Sunday, January 12, 2025
Service Disruption: Out of operation from 0700 to 1200 for a cable change.
Location: Lower Arrow Lake, between Fauquier and Needles on Highway 6.
Normal Schedule: Operates 24/7, with regular crossings every 30 minutes and on-demand service overnight.
Crossing Time: Approximately 5 minutes.

Columbia Ferry
Scheduled Maintenance: Tuesday, January 14, and Wednesday, January 15, 2025
Service Disruption: Last sailings:
From Shelter Bay: 21:00
From Galena Bay: 21:30
Normal operations are expected to resume at 05:00 each day.
Location: Upper Arrow Lake, between Shelter Bay and Galena Bay on Highway 23.
Normal Schedule: Operates 5:00 am – 12:30 am daily, with a 20-minute crossing time.
