RCMP officers in Enderby arrested a 42-year-old woman on Saturday night during a suspicious person investigation, recovering stolen fuel.
A patrol officer observed the suspect pulling a wagon on a walking trail near Granville Avenue in Enderby.
RCMP reported when the woman noticed the officer, she fled into the bush, leaving behind jerry cans of suspected stolen fuel.
With the assistance of Police Service Dog Phantom, officers traced her to a residence on Old Vernon Road, where she was arrested.
The woman allegedly threatened an officer with dog deterrent spray during the arrest but was apprehended without its deployment.
She faces charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and assault with a weapon.
The suspect, who had five outstanding warrants, is in custody until her court appearance on January 25th.
