Vernon, BC – A fast-moving grass fire broke out in the 6200 block of Okanagan Avenue on Friday afternoon, prompting a swift response from Vernon Fire Rescue Service.
Calls about the fire started coming in shortly after 4 p.m. on March 21. Fire crews quickly surrounded the blaze and knocked it down, though cleanup efforts took longer. A second alarm was called to bring in additional manpower.
No injuries or property damage have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
