Heavy Snow and Road Closures on Highway 1

A winter storm is bringing heavy snowfall to parts of British Columbia, with 20 to 35 cm expected overnight. Affected areas include North Columbia, Kinbasket, West Columbia, and the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass. Snow accumulation is making travel difficult, with reduced visibility in heavy snowfall.

Highway 1 Closures & Restrictions
Closed: Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate to Clanwilliam OH Bridge (9-24 km west of Revelstoke) for avalanche control. Expected reopening at 5:30 PM PST.
Planned Closure: Revelstoke to Golden at 9:00 PM PST for avalanche control. Commercial vehicles will be held in Malakwa; passenger vehicles may use the frontage road.
