February 1, 2025: Crews are making good progress on the Kalamalka Lake replacement pier.
As of February 1 installation of the new stringers is nearing completion. Adding the new decking is expected to begin very soon.
The new pier features steel piles and bracing, pressure-treated timber stringers, and composite decking – making the structure more robust against extreme weather conditions.
Burton Marine Pile Driving Inc. began the project at Kalamalka Beach in November with the demolition of the old Rotary Pier. The new pier is scheduled for completion by the end of January.
