Update January 24, 2023
Of the 4 victims from the 2 avalanches that occurred in the Monashee Mountain Range, South of Revelstoke, 2 have died, one remains in serious condition, 1 has been released from hospital.
The 2 deceased were brothers, businessmen, from Pennsylvania. The pair were using CMH Heliskiing and their guides when the fatal McCrae Peak avalanche struck.

It's being reported that 2 separate avalanches occurred Monday afternoon in the Keefer lake, and Monashee Mountain region.
In total 4 people were rescued and taken to hospital. 2 are believed to be in critical condition.

There are unconfirmed reports that a number of people have been transported by helicopter and ambulance from the Keefer Lake area to the Kelowna General Hospital.
The incident started early Monday afternoon.
The area around Keefer lake, in the Monashee Mountains, is a popular destination for winter activities like heli-skiing.
