Vernon Search and Rescue (VSAR) successfully rescued two lost snowmobilers east of Enderby in Hunter Range.
VSAR received assistance from the Hunters Range Snowmobile Association during the operation, which took place last Friday.
The two snowmobilers had encountered heavy snow, and, equipped to spend the night on the mountain, they had built a shelter and had a fire burning by the time VSAR made contact.
The pair also had a satellite communication device, allowing VSAR to locate them quickly.
Vernon Search and Rescue emphasizes the importance of satellite communication devices, as they significantly expedite their rescue efforts.
