Vernon RCMP Arrest Wanted Man Following Alert from Citizen
December 30th, 2024: A private citizen played a key role in the arrest of a wanted prolific offender near Vernon earlier today.
Early Monday morning (December 30, 2024), at approximately 8:10 a.m., the sharp eyed person noticed a vehicle behaving suspiciously near Silver Star Road and called police.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP quickly identified the vehicle as one they were actively seeking.
Despite the driver’s attempt to flee, police successfully deployed a tire deflation device (spike belt), bringing the vehicle to a stop. The suspect then tried to escape on foot but was apprehended without further incident.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Vernon resident on outstanding criminal warrants. The suspect is in custody awaiting a court appearance.
