Wednesday December 18, 2024: DriveBC is reporting that two snowplows have been taken out of service after incidents earlier today.
The report, published on the morning of December 18, 2024, states that the incidents occurred several hours earlier. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. This serves as a reminder to motorists to never pass a snowplow on the right.
A snowplow’s blade is typically on the vehicle’s right side. Passing on that side exposes the passing vehicle to blinding snow and debris thrown by the blade.
Passing on the right—or blade side—puts everyone at risk: the plow driver, the passing vehicle, and any other vehicles in the immediate area.
