Monday, January 20th, 2025: A column of thick black smoke rose from a fire in a mobile home at the north end of Okanagan Lake on Monday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m., the Okanagan Indian Band Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Willowshore Road.
When firefighters arrived, they found the structure fully involved. Quick work by crews managed to keep the blaze mostly contained to one property.
The residents and their pets escaped safely. The home, and possibly outbuildings, were destroyed.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
