Just after 7 PM Saturday evening a sharp eyed citizen alerted emergency responders smoke was coming from a residence in the 7300 block of Okanagan Landing Road.
Vernon Fire Rescue Service responded and contained the fire before it had a chance to spread.
No word of injuries. No cause for the fire has been released.
