Where Do I Vote?

You can vote:

  • On Election Day (April 28) at your assigned polling station.

  • At advance polls (April 18–21).

  • At any Elections Canada office by April 22, 6 p.m.

  • By mail (Apply by April 22, 6 p.m.. Ballot must arrive by April 28.)


Who Can Vote?

You must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen

  • Be 18 years old on or before April 28

  • Prove identity and address

Even if you’re turning 18 on election day, you can vote early.


Am I Registered?

Use this tool to check, update, or register. You can also register when you go to vote.


What ID Do I Need?

To vote, you must prove both identity and address.Options include:

  • Government-issued ID with name & address (e.g., driver's license)

  • Two pieces of ID, one with address (e.g., health card + utility bill)

  • No ID? Someone who knows you can vouch for you.



Special Circumstances

You can still vote if you are:

  • Homeless (with a letter from a shelter or community service)

  • In a long-term care or retirement facility

  • In hospital or correctional institution

  • In the Canadian Forces or living abroad


Can I Take a Selfie With My Ballot?

No. It’s illegal to take or share a photo of a marked ballot.
