Cold? What Cold? Vernonites Prove They’re Tougher Than Winter Itself!
The 64th Annual Winter Carnival Parade hit Vernon’s streets on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at exactly 12 noon, proving once again that a little snow is no match for this community’s spirit!
With temperatures sitting at a crisp -7°C, bundled-up spectators lined 27th Street from 48th Avenue to 30th Avenue, ready to cheer on a vibrant spectacle of 80s-themed fun.
“Back to the 80s” Brings Big Hair, Bigger Energy!
This year’s parade theme, “Back to the 80s,” transformed downtown Vernon into a neon-lit, synth-powered time machine! Floats decked out in cassette tapes, Rubik’s Cubes, and totally rad outfits brought a blast from the past.
From Ghostbusters and Pac-Man to leg warmers and boomboxes, the parade was a nostalgic overload—in the best way possible!
Spectators get to vote for their favorite float! The Overall Parade Spirit winner will be determined by fans online—because what’s more 2025 than turning a classic tradition into an interactive experience?
