Now that the holiday season is behind us, work crews have resumed construction on Kalamalka Lake, building the new Kal Pier.
Work is progressing quickly. Last week, crews began laying the new deck.
The new pier features steel piles and bracing, pressure-treated timber stringers, and composite decking – making the structure more robust against extreme weather conditions.
Burton Marine Pile Driving Inc. began the project at Kalamalka Beach in November with the demolition of the old Rotary Pier. The new pier is scheduled for completion by the end of January.
